Posting my old Girlfriends LA scans, and looking through my catalogs for more pages to scan, got me thinking…
I have a bunch of old GFLA shirts that are all too small, but can work if worn over other shirts. And it turns out that my purple peasant shirt is the perfect backdrop for this sleeveless top, which I love and haven’t worn in years! Huzzah!

FAT IN THE CITY
There I was travelling home alone from a fabulous evening with my fellow fashionistas looking spectacular in the subway window reflection. My feet purred (pain free!) in my sleek canary yellow felt heel by shoe goddess Charlotte Olympia and a vintage red dress courtesy of my local vintage store . Then all of a sudden this woman (yes woman!) plops herself down beside me and begins settling herself into the two-seater. Okay, so at this point I’m feeling her elbows digging into my rib cage like an arrow when she bellows, “You’re too fat for the fucking subway! I can’t get comfortable…you’re taking up too much space, fat bitch!” (for the rest of the story go to There I was travelling home alone from a fabulous evening with my fellow fashionistas looking spectacular in the subway window reflection. Feb 23 - Outfit of the beard competition
This year I competed in Come and Shave it, Austin’s 7th annual facial hair competition. This is what I wore to sweep the ladies facial hair category!
Skirt - Domino Dollhouse Galaxy Pencil Skirt 3x
THIS SKIRT IS AMAZING. It is long, was comfortable to hang around a bar for TWELVE (i shit you not, TWELVE) hours in, and took my daytime comfort look to a night time glam place with ease. It also has amazing pockets, a scandalous slit in the back (photos of that next time I’m wearing it, which OOPS, is today at work because I love it so much) and on top of all that it is beautifully made. Thanks so much to Tracy for sending it to me!
Cardigan - Target, borrowed from my lovely friend Casey, who also rescued me from alone-ness in the sea of straights during the afternoon
Top - repurposed pajama top from avenue
Necklace - also from avenue
Pin - a sweet flower made for me by my sweetie Erin, and secured to my top by a pin borrowed from my sweet friend Erin Bunny! Two Erins, help with one outfit!
That red bra sneaking out is from Lane Bryant and the gaudy ring featured in my pocket photo is from my grandma, probably by way of HSN or QVC.
